At the heart of COWL is a simple framework for exploring how we live, comprised of the 4 Rs of Intentional Living and Rose Castle Foundation’s 12 Habits of Reconcilers.
The 4 Rs of Intentional Living

Rituals
the intentional practices that help us return to what matters. For example, prayer, silence, reflection, shared meals, Scripture, contemplation, and celebrations.
How can we intentionally create space, individually and in community, to return to what matters most?

Relationships
the postures that cultivate right and flourishing relationship with God, self, others and land.
How can we intentionally cultivate right relationship with all that is within and around us?

Rhythms
zooming out to consider how we structure our days, weeks, seasons, work, rest, worship, and communal life.
How is our life balance, our life rhythm? What intentional changes can be made for it to be more life-giving?

Rootedness
recognising and engaging the traditions, beliefs, stories, communities and places that root us.
What have we inherited, what gives us life, and what wisdom might help us become more deeply rooted?
The 12 Habits of Reconcilers
Hospitality | Curiosity | Generosity
Empathy | Vulnerability | Humility | Lament | Forgiveness | Gratitude
Hope | Stewardship | Creativity

Together, the 4 Rs of Intentional Living and the 12 Habits of Reconcilers form the scaffold for COWL. They offer an overlapping framework to:
- reflect on how we are living now
- reflect on existing communal forms of life
- imagine how we might live differently.
